She was first seen naked in Season 1 when she stepped onto her husband’s pyre with three dragons’ eggs and emerged unscathed with her hatchlings, proving herself to be The Unburnt and a worthy leader.

And Emilia added: ‘I’d like to remind people the last time I took my clothes off was season 3. That was a while ago. It’s now season 6.’ The actress described Sunday night’s pivotal scene as ‘so exciting, very tingly-making.

Her secret superpower: The fire resistant heroine pushed over the braziers, sparking an inferno in the chamber. In Season 1 Emilia stepped onto her husband's pyre with three dragons' eggs and emerged nude

‘Every season I get at least one spine-chilling moment. I just stand up and I go, “I’m hearing what you’re all saying, but funny thing, I’m going to kill you all. I forgot that I have an ace in my back pocket and now I win.” ‘

Showrunner David Benioff told EW he was equally impressed by the star, who filmed the sequence partially on a closed set in Ireland and at the Vaes Dothrak village set built in the desert in Spain.

‘Emilia absolutely crushed it. It’s one of those weird scenes because it was half shot in Spain, half in Belfast,’ he said. ‘But largely due to her performance, it works brilliantly.’
