Photos: sundayslimThere was violence in the Maryland axis of Lagos today after a hawker allegedly fleeing from officials of the Kick Against Indiscipline task force was hit and killed by a vehicle on Ikorodu Road.
Angered by the incident, hawkers and suspected hoodlums in the area protested and damaged several vehicles, including buses operating under the Bus Rapid Scheme.
Sources on the scene said it took the intervention of riot policemen and soldiers to restore order to the area.
