Sulaimon Alao Adekunle known to music lovers worldwide through his stage name, MALAIKA and also as IKE ANOBI, KS1, IMEKU ALHAJI, POPSY CORRECTION, SERIKI, JAGABAN, OGBON FUJI, WATER, CNN ALHAJI, SUPERSTAR etc started playing and performing music from an early age in a quranic school in the suburb of Lagos known as Agege and further paying his dues through Were (the early morning Islamic wake up music during the Ramadan season) in 1983 before forming his first FUJI band in 1985.Image may be NSFW.

Three successful participation in the then popular ADEMOLA ADENIJI-ADELE WERE COMPETITION which he won back to back between 1990 and 1993 paved the way for his debut album MR WONDER in November 1993 under the then OMO-AJE RECORDS LABEL (BABALAJE MUSIC). The takeover of government by the military from civilian regime led to the delay in release of the album, till February 1994, but it still did not stop the emergence of a strong music force from Lagos Island. With his band TEKOYE FUJI ORGANISATION, he performed in the United States of America from November 1997 and had a great time as he thrilled in about 15 states before returning to Nigeria in April 1998 with multi-million naira musical equipment. Since then he had taken his trade to Germany, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy, France, England, China, Austria, Finland, Canada, Malaysia, Ireland, Wales, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Libya, South Africa, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin Republic ensuring that the Yoruba genre called FUJI is well known in those part of the world.
KS1 Malaika has performed and duet with various artistes in different genres of music including 2Face Idibia, Davido, Femi Kuti, Artquake, Fada U Turn, Olamide, Jaywon, Oritshefemi, Dammy Krane, TS, not to talk of colleagues in the Fuji field like General Kollington Ayinla, Shefiu Alao, Sunny T Adesokan, Sir Shina Akanni, Pasuma, Taju Alabi Istijabah, Saheed Osupa, Remi Aluko, Muri Thunder, Wale Tekoma, Yisa Alabi Mirinda, Waheed Akanni Larondo, and many others. He is quite friendly with musicians in the Islamic gospel genre and has been featured in their works severally.
His music has been sampled by different artistes in the Fuji and hip hop scene and are hits among music lovers all over the world. Divinely talented, Malaika composes, arranges and produces his music. Blessed with a wide range of vocal abilities, his music uses traditional African and Nigerian instruments such as the Gangan, Iya ilu, Bata, Apala, Agogo, assorted percussions, guitars, keyboard and saxophone. With a unique call and respond style that everyone has now adopted, Malaika’s music is melodious and easy to dance.
Malaika’s constant worldwide travels have endeared him to audiences outside the shores of Nigeria and no month passes without a request for his services in different parts of the world. .
