According to Dayton CBS affiliate WHIO, 8-year-old Khmorra and 6-year-old Kaiden Helton died Sunday at Dayton Children’s Hospital, where they had been in critical condition since Thursday.
Dayton police said the children’s mother shot them after 10 a.m. Thursday and dragged their bodies outside the home on Lori Sue Avenue.Image may be NSFW.

WHIO said the mother, Claudena Helton, was arrested and has been in the Montgomery County jail since the shooting. She is charged with two counts of attempted murder and four counts of aggravated assault. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the charges will increase since the children have died.
At the time of the shootings, there was an active investigation against Helton by Montgomery County Children Services, according to WHIO.
