Nollywood Actress Queen Wokoma hails from Rivers State, Southern Nigeria. She’s a Nollywood actress and a graduate of Abia State Polytechnic, Queen Wokoma, a name that is known to few but the face is known to many. Many said she is Ini Edo’s twin while others believe she is just a look alike of Ini Edo has won the heart of her fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
The Rivers State born actress discloses her challenges in the industry with Mukosolu Nzom: Read Excerpts Below:
Lets meet you…
I am Queen Wokoma. I am from Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State. Also attends Abia state Polytechnic.
How does one go about getting into the acting business?
I can’t really say because mine was different. I met Vincent Anointed (My Manager) in a film institute I accompanied my friend to. I never had the intentions of acting then. He asked if I was eloquent in English Language…I replied yes! Then he gave me a script to read and interpret. I did it perfectly, so he was impressed. He then called Holycup Movies that was how I won my first movie role.
Is it true that you have to change yourself in order to be accepted into the entertainment business?
You don’t have to change yourself in order to be accepted into the entertainment industry especially Nollywood because it has a space for everyone. Both literate and illiterates.

About how long is the average amount of time before an actor actually gets a job?
Like I said earlier, I got my first movie role. I met with my manager who is a Director and a Producer. I have never been auditioned for a movie role.
What kind of things should an aspiring actor be involved in to prepare themselves for this field of work?
(Thinks) Well I think a film academy would do because we have many actors and actresses who has nothing to offer in terms of acting. So if a film academy is established it will do a lot of good in the industry.
Once they get started acting, is it hard to find your genre of acting?
It is not hard if you are good at what you do.
What is a good age to begin to pursue your acting career?
Any age is ideal because there are roles for them.
What is some advice that you would give to someone aspiring to become and actor?
My advice is for them to remain focus, Determination and perseverance leads to success.
Is it true the saying “if you set your mind to it you can do it”?
Sure! You can’t make it anywhere if you are been distracted.
Is it a career path that you would recommend?
Yeah it’s recommendable

What is your experience in the field of professional acting?
It’s stressful, it’s demanding but trust me, it’s worth the stress.
How do you try to improve on your acting skills?
Having a mentor helps improve your skills in whatever you do. I watch a lot of movies…mostly foreign movies and I read a lot. Beside that I still act in front of my mirror. (LAUGHS)
For how many years have you been in the field of acting?
(Smiles)This is my fifth year in Nollywood.

What are your weak points when it comes to acting?
Weak point when it comes to acting?? I have none for now.
How do you handle your male fans?
Sure I talk to my male fans same way I talk to my female fans but when they try to exceed the limits, I put a knife in it. (LAUGHS)

I am in a relationship.
Challenges so far
Challenges are natural. They help bring out the best in you. I think my major challenge right now is trying to convince people I am not Ini Edo and we are not related.
How did you feel knowing that your look alike in the industry is one of the A-list actors?
Not really bad. The look alike stuff contributed to my growth in Nollywood.
Have you ever been beaten or otherwise based on INI Edo’s actions in the movie in terms of mistaken identity?
No! But I have been stopped severally (In public functions, airports etc even outside the country).
How true is it about sexual harassment in the industry?
Yes I have heard about it but I have never been a victim. The truth is if you know your worth you can never be worthless.

If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would it be?
Dinner!!! (LAUGHS) let me see (THINKS)…I have a Crush on Chris Brown so, I think Chris Brown, Tyler Perry and My father in the Lord Bishop David Oyedepo.
How do actors handle themselves during sex/intimate scenes?
I can’t say for others but I feel nothing because it’s called acting.
