Dineo Ranaka’s known as the craziest person on the planet. She is a radio DJ at Yfm, with her own drive time slot in the afternoon, a co-presenter on Club808 and is working on more than you can swallow.
Dineo Ranaka (born 16 December 1983, in Soweto, Johannesburg), is a businesswoman, radio and television presenter. She co-hosted a show on Yfm called ‘Essential Rush’ with well known Chilli M before being given her own show.
She proves the saying “Jane-of-all-trades” is very true but this time she’s master of all.
It all began when Dineo was a co-host with Chilli M on Yfm on the afternoon slots. When Ranaka took over the slot, her listenership increased to 750000 making her the only female afternoon drive time radio DJ with consistent growth in figures and personality. Presenting skills are on point, acting talent not a disappointment and a businesswoman in the making.
Dineo which means ‘gifts’ and not only were her family and friends blessed by those gifts but the media industry as well. Growing up in Soweto for her was tough but it came with beautiful memories of joy, love and happiness. Being surrounded by her loving parents, siblings and family made it all worth it.
Being a humbled, fun, loving mother of one, Ranaka is diagnosed with hypothyroidism, a brain shrinkage and temporal lobe epilepsy. But that does not stop her from conquering her dream and making every moment a highlight. Taking on so many roles on the media industry is not easy and being a great mother as well but she sure makes it seems all worth it.
She’s currently studying fashion designing at LISOP and is in the early stages of launching her clothing line called ‘Luv Dr’(love Dineo Ranaka).
