On September 4, 2017, Mathuloe was found dead at Pecanwood Estate in Hartbeespoort, North West. She apparently died from self-inflicted stab 
wounds.
Mathuloe was certified dead by a doctor at the golf course in the estate at around 6:30 a.m. local time.
A picture circulating of Mathuloe appeared to have been taken with PSL coach Gavin Hunt, and this led many to believe Hunt was the man who allegedly killed her at the exclusive Pecanwood Estate in Hartbeespoort. 
Investigation
Authorities have no official suspects at the time and the investigation ongoing. With the accusations from users on social media blaming Gavin Hunt for her death, he responded on Twitter by tweeting, “I get asked to take selfies everyday and I oblige but to say I was dating this girl is ridiculous it’s very sad to hear what’s happened RIP.”
