Born on 22nd September 1980 to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother Majid Michel aka Shaker was raised in Accra with nine siblings.
Majid was raised in Accra along with his nine siblings. Majid attended St. Theresa’s Primary School, and later on, the cream of the crop Mfantipim Secondary School where he was actively involved in the school’s drama club. Afterwards, he enrolled in the Academy of Screen Arts which is affiliated with Ashesi University.
He was part of the cast of a TV series in Ghana titled “Things We Do For Love” His role on ‘Things We Do for Love’ was to be played by a Lebanese boy, which was perfect for him due to his Lebanese heritage. ‘Things We Do for Love’ became a huge success and his performance gave him his breakthrough, Majid instantly became a household name!
Majid first starred in the movie “Divine Love” he has since featured in over 20+ movies. He received nominations for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. In 2012 he won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Majid is married with 2 daughters.
