The Federal government has announced March 17th and 18th as the dates picked by the Ocholi family for the burial rites of former Minister of State for Labor and Employment, James Ocholi, his wife and son, who died in a fatal accident on March 6th.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babacir Lawal, announced the dates at the Federal Executive Council’s valedictory session held for Ocholi today March 9th.
The Service of songs would hold on March 17th at the International Conference Centre Abuja by 7 pm after which the body of James Ocholi, his wife, Blessing, and son, Joshua, would depart the National Hospital Abuja on March 17th for his home town, Dekina, in Kogi state where a wake-keeping would take place. Internment would take place on March 18 by 12 noon in Dekina.

SENATOR ESUENE EXPRESSES GRIEF OVER DEATH OF JAMES OCHOLI: Her Excellency senator Helen Esuene has condoled president Muhammadu Buhari and the federal government over the shocking death of the minister of State for Labour, Barrister JamesOchili. She discribed the late SAN as “one of the nation’s finest” whose services was badly needed to the resucitation of the economy. The only female gubernatorial candidate in the April 11, 2015 general election in Akwa Ibom State said the death of the minister, his wife and son was a big blow to the Ocholi family and the nation at large. She called on the federal government to immortalise the late James Ochili by naming a street in Abuja after him while condoling the bereaved family to take solace on the legacies the late couples left behind. Esuene said further that there is need for the national Assembly to give a nod to the speed limit technology introduced by the Federal Road Safty Commission, adding that the merits of such a speed breaker outweighs its disadvantage. The former first Lady is of the opinion that the vehicle in which the late minister was travelling would not have sumalsulted if it were on an avarage speed after a bust tyre.
FRSC RULES OVERSPEEDING AS CAUSE OF ACCIDENT THAT KILLED OCHOLI
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi say investigations carried out by the agency suggest overspeeding as the main cause of the accident that killed former Minister of state for Labor and Employment, James Ocholi, his wife and son on March 6th.
Oyeyemi stated this while presenting the accident’s Road Traffic Crash Investigation Interim Report to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided by President Buhari today March 9th.
He said investigations by the agency also showed that the driver of Ocholi’s SUV had no driver’s license and that the impact of the accident was more on Ocholi and his family members who were seated at the rear seats because they were not using seat belts
