Morning cuteness

A post shared by Crystal Okoye (@crystaloficial1) on

Nollywood Actress, Crystal Okoye is also known as “UKWU Venza”.

WHEN precisely did you join the movie industry?

It was two years ago when I went to see a friend at a movie location in Asaba, Delta State. The cast members were just getting ready for the shoot. They waited for an artiste who, unfortunately, did not show up. So, they decided to feature me in the movie: Though I had wanted to be an actress before I got on that location that day, I didn’t know how to go about it.

What does it feel like being a movie star?

I feel like a star already. You can’t imagine what I go through in the public. There was a time I went to a shop, where prices were fixed to all the items. I paid for all the stuff I bought; but to my surprise, the owner said that as a movie star, I should pay a different price. She said, ‘You actors have money, so you should be able to afford whatever I price I give you.” I was speechless at that moment. Also, most of the time, people stop me on the road and request for photographs with me. At times, I feel shy, but that is the prices of stardom.Crystal and Diamond Okechi

How did your parents react initially when you were coming into the industry?

Yes, I had the support of my parents until they passed on in 2010. It was a painful moment for me when that happened.

Who are your role models in the industry?

My role model is Pete Edochie. He plays a fatherly role in my life. He was one of first set of people I met when I joined the movie industry. My other role model is Stephanie Okereke.

Do you get sexually harassed by men in the movie industry?

It’s a choice you have to make. If you decide you want to sleep around with men in the industry, it may favour you or turn the other way round. Everyone has his or her own choice to make in the industry. I’ve heard about sexual harassment in the industry. There are also stories about ladies who really go out to have sex with producers just to appear in their movies. My belief is that if God does not want you to be in a movie, you won’t. But if you are fated to be in any movie, you will surely get it. So, I believe that becoming a star is about destiny. If God says that is your destiny, then, it will be.

How do you manage advances from men?

All my life, I get several men who admire me. I’m a beautiful lady and I know it; so, it depends on the way it comes.

What part of your body do you treasure most?

I treasure and protect my whole body. I spend lot of money to maintain my skin, just to keep me sparkling.Crystal Okoye appears much gallant and boastful of her butt as she always flaunt it in almost every photo she shares.

What’s your unique selling point?

I know I’m blessed with my shape. Some girls have walked up to me to ask how I gained the figure. They say: “I want to be curvy like you”. And my simple answer is: it is the way that God created me. It’s natural. People admire me for my height, looks and figure. When you talk of Crystal Okoye in the movie industry now, people always describe me as being beautiful and curvy. I know my figure, height and beauty opens the doors for me easily. There’s no way people will walk past me without noticing my waist. It’s a gift from God.

What attracts you most to men?

I go close to people that are intelligent and people that I can learn something from.

Can you talk about the movie that has transformed your life?

It is The Priceless, a Ghanaian movie. The storyline caught my attention. It was the only movie that I have ever made, which made me shed uncontrollable tears.

What was growing up like for you?

It was interesting. My parents were there all along before I lost them few years back.

Could you recall your first experience in the first movie you featured in?

It was in Speak the words. I was very young then. My dad introduced me to his friend, who then referred me to his brother. This was a long time ago. I was much younger then, but my hips were there. My hips have always been a major attraction for me. It’s one of those things that attract men to me. It isn’t my fault that I’m curvy in figure.

What would you have been doing if you were not an actor?

I would have gone into importation of female clothing.

Doesn’t your profession affect your education?

No, it doesn’t in any way. I run a part-time programme (CEP). I go to school only on weekends. When I’m sitting for examination, I don’t accept acting jobs. I have my textbooks, which I study even while I’m not in school.

Would you mind if any of your children go into acting?

I think a child has the right to choose a career for him or herself. You have to give your children the support they need, so you don’t have to impose any profession on them.

Have you won any award?

No, but I know it will happen soon.

Which is your choice: sex or money?

(General laughter) Money is good. With money, I’ll be able to build the houses of my choice and buy the best of cars. Without money, you can’t do anything. Sex is a momentary enjoyment that does not translate into anything. With money, I’ll invest into things that will help and not a few seconds of enjoyment.

What brand of car do you like?

Porsche because I like classic things.

Liliane Bettencourt

Liliane Bettencourt is a French heiress and businesswoman who is one of the principal shareholders of L’Oréal. Counted among the most powerful women in the world, she is France’s richest woman and the second richest woman in the world, slightly behind Christy Walton. She was born as the only child of Eugène Schueller, who founded L’Oréal, one of the world’s largest cosmetics and beauty companies. She developed an interest in business at an early age and started helping her father as an apprentice in his company as a teenager. Having lost her mother at a very young age, she was especially close to her father and worked alongside him in expanding their business. She went on to marry French politician André Bettencourt. Over the years she rose to become deputy chairman of L’Oréal and inherited the L’Oréal fortune upon the death of her father, becoming the company’s principal shareholder. An ambitious businesswoman, she worked tirelessly to expand the business and acquired numerous other cosmetic brands. In addition to being one of the richest persons in the world, Liliane Bettencourt also grabbed the media attention due to her estrangement from her only daughter and her controversial relationship with the much younger François-Marie Banier.

Her father was a chemist while her mother was a pianist. Her mother died when Liliane was just five years old and she formed a very close bond with her father.

  • Eugène Schueller was an enterprising man who had formulated synthetic hair dyes and formed a company to sell them. Eventually, he expanded the business to include other types of cosmetics as well.

  • During the early 1970s, she feared that the company might get nationalized and she exchanged half of her stake in L’Oreal for a 3% share in Nestle.

  • She harbored great ambitions for her company and undertook an extensive expansion strategy. She acquired the luxury beauty brand Lancôme, the American cosmetics company Helena Rubinstein, and the American fashion retailer Ralph Lauren, among others and integrated them into her own business.

  • Under her direction the company performed very well and grew to become one of the largest cosmetics company in the world. Her wealth increased manifold over the ensuing years and she rose to became one of the wealthiest women in the world.

  • She bestowed upon him gifts estimated to be worth as much as €1.3 billion and it was also revealed that Bettencourt had made Banier her heir. Hundreds of artisans and motorcycles operators in Ejigbo area of Lagos are now in tears after they incurred huge losses from the money they entrusted to a woman.

The money about N4.5m was their daily savings popularly called ‘Ajo’ which they gave to the woman but she fled after some time. The incident happened at Anuoluwapo Street in Ejigbo where the woman resided with her family and also used as her office.

The police have started manhunt for the suspect known as Ogochukwu for the alleged fraud but she could not be traced as she was said to have moved out from the house with her family due to pressure from the victims.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect reportedly used their money for the ponzi scheme – MMM with the hope that she will make more profit. But unfortunately, the whole money got stuck in the scheme and she was unable to refund money to the victims.

The scam was exposed when those who deposited their money in her care wanted to withdraw it in order to pay school fees and house rent but she started telling them stories and making unfulfilled promises.

It was gathered that when she could not settle those who needed to take their money back and others got to know, they reportedly came at once to take their money.

According to the victims, she asked them to come the next day so that she will go to the banks to withdraw the money but when they came they were told that she had parked out in the night to an undisclosed place. P.M.EXPRESS visited the residents and her neighbours and confirmed the incident. They explained that the woman had to leave for her safety and that of her family.

Meanwhile, the police have been making effort to trace her as she was said to have gone back to their village in Nnewi, Anambra State. Some of the victims lamented their frustration over the incident. Some said they have been saving the money to in order to pay their children’s school fees and rent because they were not making much money again, but could not do so again because of the fraud.

Some of the victims said that the woman was greedy otherwise she would not have used the customers money for the MMM ponzi scheme and thereby putting the life of many families in jeopardy.

When our correspondent visited the house, the landlord had pasted a notice in front of the gate with the inscription “Alajo is no more living here”.

At the Ejigbo police station where the matter was reported, the police confirmed it and the source said the police was seriously looking forward to her arrest and prosecution

Update: Looks Like The ‘brazen’ Thief Was Found? Man poses next to the stolen Rolls Royce Phantom in South Africa, shares photos on Facebook

South Africans are speculating that this man may be the brazen car thief, who stole Rolls-Royce Ghost in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

Pictures of a young man posing next to a Rolls-Royce Ghost in Riverlea, southern Joburg, have been circulating on social media.

Leranzo Jones decided he looked pretty cool next to these flashy wheels and that people needed to be “reminded” who he is. He’s probably just a resident of the community, who saw the car and decided to take a few snaps next to it, but some are speculating that Jones may in fact be the guy who nicked the car.

This is highly unlikely though, as the real perpetrator was running from the cops and abandoned the car in Riverlea. It is believed to be worth R5 million.

The stolen Rolls was found abandoned on Wednesday after being stolen from a workshop at The Glen on Wednesday morning, according to the police.

Johannesburg Metro spokesperson Edna Mamonyane said in a statement the car was immediately reported stolen.

The workshop’s owner apparently spotted it while driving on the N12, and followed it off the N1 South at Golden Highway, where he also alerted two JMPD officers on patrol. After a high-speed chase, the car was found abandoned. No arrests were made after the suspect fled on foot between the houses.

TSTV First Nigeria owned satellite TV set up to rival DSTV Set To launch on October 1, 2017.

Telcom Satellites Television (TSTV) will pioneer the introduction of smart set top boxes in Nigeria with Direct To Home (DTH) service.

With DTH technology, a customer will receive broadcasting signals directly from the satellite on his set top box (STB).

A major advantage is that the viewer can opt to watch programs of his choice with a Pay-As-You-Consume model being offered by TSTV.

DTH tech brings television channels in Standard Definition and High Definition, the connected set top box allows one to browse content from Twitter, Facebook, Daily Motion, video on-demand sites, Over the Top, OTT apps, news, weather etc. through applications residing on STB.

TSTV will be giving DSTV a challenge with its model though, industry pundits are already pointing out unreliability of internet connectivity as a major issue to confront TSTV in Nigeria.

The HD Smart Set Top Box will work as a tool for personalization, engagement, and new customer experiences; and with internet connectivity, using Android software, one can convert one‘s TV into a smart TV.

TSTV is promising subscribers a complementary 20GB internet capacity every month and this service is available for extension on demand.

TSTV STB Back-Office End-to-End Solution is an easy-to-maintain solution for delivering TV, Video-On-Demand, and interactive services to end users who use LAN (internet connection). It is suitable for schools, hospitals, hotels, communities, securities firms and so on.

TSTV STB platform also includes in-built fast Wi-Fi, up to 802.11ac, 1 GBit/s Ethernet and USB 3.0 interface. TSTV STB supports built-in Bluetooth 4.0, RF for hybrid remote control

Instead of buying separate smart TVs or dongles which are expensive, users can buy integrated set top boxes which allows them to directly connect to internet, stream media, and access subscribed content.

Another cool feature of unlimited external recording is also available, by plugging in your own external storage device for recording your favourite programs, for example if one plugs in his own external hard drive of 1TB, they can record up to 1900 hrs of content of a standard definition channel.

TSTV is set to launch on October 1, 2017.

Tragic!! Uber loses It’s licence to operate in London

Transport for London said the conduct of the ride-hailing app, which has around 25,000 drivers operating in the British capital, had raised concerns.

London transport authorities announced Friday they would not renew Uber’s licence to operate in the city when it expires on September 30 over public safety concerns, although it has three weeks to appeal.

“TfL has concluded that Uber London Limited is not fit and proper to hold a private hire operator licence,” it said in a statement.

It said Uber’s “approach and conduct demonstrate a lack of corporate responsibility in relation to a number of issues which have potential public safety and security implications”.

These include its approach to reporting serious criminal offences, and to obtaining criminal record checks for drivers.

Under licensing laws, Uber has 21 days to appeal the decision, and can continue to operate until the process has been exhausted.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said he fully supported the decision.

“I want London to be at the forefront of innovation and new technology and to be a natural home for exciting new companies that help Londoners by providing a better and more affordable service,” he said.

“However, all companies in London must play by the rules and adhere to the high standards we expect — particularly when it comes to the safety of customers.

“Providing an innovative service must not be at the expense of customer safety and security.”
